5 HEALTH TIPS FOR MEN

On the occasion of International Men's Day, we give you recommendations to take care of your health
International Men's Day is commemorated on November 19. This celebration arises from the initiative of the American academic Thomas Oaster, who proposed it to UNESCO. The agency supported it, as it considered that "it would provide a bit of balance between genders." The purpose of this date is to promote positive male role models, celebrate the contributions of men to society, promote health care and seek equality between men and women.

1.- Visit the doctor regularly.
Most men don't want to go to the doctor because they feel old or weak, but this is wrong. The doctor is a figure that must be present in a man's life, especially after he is 40. Measure your blood pressure at least once every two years. Get a cholesterol test every 5. After 50 ask your doctor to check your colon and prostate. Remember that if diseases are detected early they can be treated.
2.- Eat healthy and exercise.
Physical activity becomes more necessary as the years go by. It is recommended to do half an hour of exercise daily, five days a week to keep the body in good condition. If you can't do it for your occupations, try walking to work, riding your bike, or climbing stairs instead of using the elevator. You should also take care of your diet to prevent problems with overweight, obesity, diabetes or hypertension. Try to eat vegetables and fruits, and reduce the consumption of red meat, fats and bread.
3.- Avoid stress.
The man is usually immersed in situations of constant stress due to work. We recommend avoiding them as much as possible or finding an activity that helps you relax, such as walking, painting, exercising, doing yoga, distracting yourself with movies or series. If you feel too angry, sad, or irritable, don't be afraid to go to a specialist. This will avoid heart problems.
4.- Sleep your 8 hours.
Rest is necessary for a healthy life. Don't sacrifice your sleep hours for a party or going to a bar. Try not to eat much so that you can rest the whole night and wake up the next day feeling recovered.
5.- Avoid smoking and reduce alcohol consumption.
Cigarette is one of the main causes of respiratory problems. As man gets older, tobacco damage increases. Try to quit as soon as possible. While alcohol can cause liver problems, make you reckless behind the wheel, or create interpersonal conflict. You may not be able to eliminate it entirely due to work or family reunions, so try to minimize it. Your body will appreciate it.
